Mtn. Talk: Youth Theater in Elkhorn City
In this episode we’re learning about the Artists Collaborative Theatre in Elkhorn City, Kentucky. ACT started in July 2002, but it wasn’t until 2008, that they opened the doors on a brand new $400,000 black box theatre built using awarded Coal Severance Tax funds. The theatre puts on six productions per year, and host a free youth arts education program that serves over fifty children per semester, along with educational outreach county-wide.
I was joined in the studio by some of the youth theater participants to learn more about the theatre’s history and youth programming, and their play “The Adventures of Peter Rabbit,” which runs from October 11th-21st, 2018. There’s a 100% chance of spontaneous song & jokes, Kiss fans, and funny stories about theatre mishaps in this episode.
