Mtn. Talk: “Heroin(e)” WV Women Battling the Drug Epidemic

This week we explore the new Netflix documentary “Heroin(e)” which follows three women – a fire chief, a judge, and a street missionary as they battle Huntington, West Virginia’s drug epidemic. We interviewed the film’s director, Elaine McMillion Sheldon, and one of the stars: Huntington’s Fire Chief Jan Rader on October 27th here in the studio.  Sheldon is a WV filmmaker who produced the award winning interactive documentary “Hollow” and Rader is the first woman to become a fire department chief in WV History.  Listen to learn more about the state of the drug epidemic in Huntington and the making of this film.

Filmmaker Elaine McMillion Sheldon (L) and Huntington WV Fire Chief Jan Rader (R) stopped by the WMMT Studio for an interview about the film “Heroin(e)” on October 27, 2017.
