Thank you to absolutely everyone for such an absolutely amazing Saturday night.

Not that a note on the internet or somewhere on some sort of social media something-or-other even remotely suffices, but eighteen hundred thousand million thanks from all of us here at WMMT to everyone who made the show the show on Saturday night so magical and special.  This event took many moving parts to manage and put together, and it was so ridiculously lucky and amazing and affirming and cool to have so many incredible and talented people give so freely of their time and incredible talent.  Will Oldham and all the gracious, lovely folks in the band put on a show that was stirring, thoughtful, dancy and beautiful, and I’m not sure that we could ever manage proper thanks for their evening.

Extra special thanks are also in order to Bethany Baxter for being the driving force behind the evening and helping manage so well all of those moving parts (and while studying for the bar, no less!), Delight Hanover for being so generous and organized and helpful in the nuts and bolts of making this thing happen, John Lackey for creating and donating such an amazing work of art for the poster, Caroline Rubens for organizing and managing the Appalshop archival film screenings, Randall of the Kentucky Theater for so graciously helping us with film projection, Saraya Brewer and Smiley Pete Publishing for getting the word out in a serious way and helping with poster printing, WRFL for being so generally awesome and also for helping promote the show, Kakie Urch & Ace Weekly for writing and running such a fantastic article in advance of the show, the folks at Cosmic Charlie’s for their time and help in making the evening run so smoothly, and all of you lovely folks who came and danced and sang and had such an amazing time.  Again, not that these thanks suffice, but here they are anyhow: thank you each and all so very very much.

We hope to have pictures soon (incidentally, if you have any pictures that you’d be willing to share with us, we’d be so, so grateful!  Send us an email at wmmtfm@appalshop.org and we will be so much obliged), but as we get some together, here’s a taste of the Bonnie “Prince” Billy set from Saturday night:

As a final note, each and every one of you are cordially welcome and invited to come visit us here in Whitesburg.  We’ll show you around Whitesburg, Appalshop, and the WMMT studio.  Get in touch with us at wmmtfm@appalshop.org, at (606) 633-0108, or stream us live online sometime.  We were so thrilled and honored to be able to share a little bit of ourselves with you on Saturday, and we’d love to have you here anytime to see just what we do out here at Mountain Community Radio.  Thank you all again and so much and see you on the radio, if not sooner.
