Just a reminder from your favorite Mountain Community Radio Station for Central Appalachia and Beyond that the 26th Annual Seedtime on the Cumberland festival of mountain people, music, arts, and culture kicks off TONIGHT with an extra-special edition of WMMT’s Bluegrass Express Live! featuring Heather Berry & Tony Mabe along with The Tommy Webb Band. For more info, check out bios here or get in touch with WMMT at (606) 633-0108 or email@example.com. The show begins at 7:30 in the Appalshop Theater and both bands will play sets of equal length.
The festival then kicks off in full force tomorrow with crafters, demonstrators, and vendors of all sorts, bluegrass on the big stage, a quilting exhibit (a fantastic collection from The Gibson Sisters of Little Cowan, generously shared with Seedtime by Bill & Josephine Richardson), an original Angelyn DeBord play in the Appalshop Theater, Sparky & Rhonda Rucker, and then a free outdoor brouhaha on the big stage with the Clack Mountain String Band and Woody Pines.
Get yourself to Whitesburg! For a full lineup, lodging info, directions, local attractions, and much, much more, visit seedtimefestival.org.
As a final note, we are still in need of volunteers to help make this weekend go! If you are interested in helping out, (and we would be so much obliged!) get in touch with us at (606) 633-0108 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Safe travels to all, and see you tonight and this weekend!
